About The Position

There really is nothing like watching a company grow from the inside. It’s quite special.

Every week there are new faces, every month there are new departments coming together and slowly (actually, pretty quickly) a living, breathing organism is taking form with its own unique place in the world.

Lightrun is currently undergoing that very transformation. We’ve raised our Series A round ($23M led by Insight Partners, bringing the total funding up to $27M) and are looking to find the right crew for our ship, the right runners for our team, the right cheetahs for our coalition… you get the drift.

We have been busy building a real-time observability platform: an ecosystem of tools and services that allow developers to get a firm grip on their production applications - from within the tools they already use. This is a developer-first product, and we’re looking for people who are either former developers themselves or have a good understanding of the developer world, how developers think and what makes them the happiest while working.

We’re based in Tel-Aviv (already stretching one leg out to the US), very dog-friendly, and absolutely love to see people bring out their best in interviews. We bring the coffee, you bring the thunder! 🙂

 

We are looking for a VP of Marketing to join the hunt!

Responsibilities:

  • Build the backbone of Lightrun’s branding, messaging & positioning
  • Manage marketing budget and resource allocation in multiple resolutions - from annual planning all the way down to daily variable spend
  • Work closely with product managers, developer advocates and sales engineers to understand and translate technical and product features into business benefits and value proposition
  • Craft marketing assets and sales collateral to highlight the benefits of Lightrun for engineering organisations, including presentations, solution briefs, case studies, our website, e-mail funnels,, white papers, videos, blog posts, sales tools and webcasts
  • Create and execute go-to-market plans for new products and features
  • Stay on top of our existing analyst relationships and create new ones
  • Be an important partner in product strategy; advise on market potential, pricing, distribution channels, and launch sequencing for all products
  • Guide the development and ongoing management of global marketing goals, including viewership/engagement, operational and campaign milestones, return on investment of marketing spend and product revenue
  • Build and maintain a full demand-gen process, based on prior experience with common B2D/SaaS industry standards and while optimizing for them
  • Own our lead nurturing programs and optimize them to expedite opportunity creation, pipeline acceleration, closed-won revenue
  • Manage list segmentation and scoring to deliver more targeted and relevant messaging to improve engagement and ultimately conversion of prospects
  • Develop and maintain competitive positioning for key competitors and ensure sales team is prepared to address competitive objections
  • Create and execute event plans that drive pipeline growth, including attending industry conferences to source new deals and increase brand awareness
  • Develop content distribution plans across marketing channels that lead to opportunity creation
  • Grow the marketing team through hiring, training and development

 

Requirements


  • Must: Have a deep understanding of developer tooling and B2D/DevOps marketing methods
  • Must: Experience scaling a high growth tech start-up
  • Must: 7+ years experience in software marketing / consulting / strategy or a similar field, with a focus on developer ecosystem / DevOps products (startup experience preferred)
  • Expert in end-to-end inbound marketing and lifecycle stage optimization tactics -  as the owner of the marketing funnel, you must know what makes the funnel generate customers
  • Highly motivated individual with management experience including superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A highly analytical approach and ability to extract meaning from data, used in a wide range of responsibilities from optimizing a specific team’s tactical approach all the way to the company’s long-term strategy
  • Knowledge and understanding of the brand awareness landscape, including working closely with PR firms, analysts & journalists
  • Track record of creating high-quality leads through the successful planning and managing of demand generation programs
  • Extensive knowledge of success metrics, behavioral and demographic targeting, and ROI-driven marketing optimization techniques
  • An individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
