have you run the test a couple times

this is still on my radar

  • one, i.e why you need to do a priming run sometimes
    • I wish I had a mac here and could debug it, but I might be able to build a small PoC for you, with instructions
  • two the devicePixelRatio change between screens dropping that one font.
    • when I get around to it, build a test page that displays some chars that use symbol and you can rerun it - I want to see what happens
