I would vote that
-v
should be the default and then add-q
to revert that.Detecting the progress from Git (or hg) output might be too complex so it won’t probably pay off for spending time on it. I’m actually not sure they will tell you how long it is going to take.
Can you try -v to any command and see if that’s working for you?
