I’ve tried to publish My Asp Boilerplate project to Ubuntu using Docker , but I got a problem. Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts.

Hi @yogichandras, I assume, you are working on module-zero-core-template.

From the document:

Database is hosted on the local machine not on the docker. Website hosted on docker will be connecting to your local database. And with a trusted connection string the connection will be unsuccessfull. So set your sql database username & password. To achive this modify the file “…\aspnet-core\src\Acme.ProjectName.Web.Host\appsettings.Staging.json”. Update Default ConnectionStrings > “Server=10.0.75.1; Database=ProjectNameDb; User=sa; Password=<write your password>;”

The main idea:

We designed docker configuration to connect a database that is outside of the docker container.

Current configuration we use SQL Server:

10.0.75.1 IP is the SQL Server default remote IP that is using by docker container to connect local SQL Server. So docker container that app in working on and SQL Server instance should be on same machine.

For MySql:

Most probably different IP is used by MySql. Check this for more info.

Solution for you:

You should configure connection string to connect remote MySql DB. Or you can run your DB on docker, too. We don’t have much experience about mysql with docker.

@yogichandras it doesn’t matter actually if you have access to your db. But for development, it can be easier to work on local database.
