Run the following command as root or in your pyenv environment.

Possible Solution

To work around this, I had to manually install the package.

pip3 install https://files.pythonhosted.org/packages/01/ea/f314032e746e4190571333da688c626312276fa699b8826dce3e3680af34/botocore-1.29.21.tar.gz

However, I shouldn’t have to do this since this should be available according to the release history:

https://pypi.org/project/botocore/1.29.21/#history

Hi thanks for reporting this - as mentioned above this overlaps with https://github.com/aws/aws-cli/issues/7493 as well as https://github.com/boto/boto3/issues/3515.

This appears to be the same issue as https://github.com/boto/boto3/issues/3271. As mentioned there:

…this is caused by a CDN caching issue [in PyPI] that we don’t have control over. That issue is being tracked here: https://github.com/pypi/warehouse/issues/10390

Botocore 1.29.21 was published on PyPI at 2022-12-01 13:16:20 (-07:00) and boto3 1.26.21 at 2022-12-01 13:16:38 (-07:00). But there is a delay in those packages being available in the simple index.

It looks like PyPI is undergoing maintenance per https://status.python.org/ so that could be the cause.
