Not sure how the connection to the website works on background, but should it try to connect over https by default ?. I used the slow connection to capture a moment of starting from HTTP and eventually loads over https. Thank you for attention.

@CruiseMan the new browser is now using Chromium code base. Its still work in progress so UI might look same. You can install extension from Chrome webstore hence its not included as part of the browser. Please try the above issue on the new version and let us know if you see the same behaviour.

Also this is on the muon browser which is deprecated now. Please install the new brave-browser which is the new released version.
