[Nightly] Personal Note - poss. not recognized as normal text input window?
See original GitHub issueBug description
When editing “normal” text, most of the keyboards (over here: GBoard) offer the option to e. g. capitalize the first word of each sentence. This does not happen in the PN edit window.
Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the problem
- set your keyboard to capitalize first words of a sentence
(in GBoard:
Settings
=>Text correction
=>Auto-capitalization
) - edit a PN and write some sentences (finished with a dot, of course 😉 ) …
Actual result after these steps
First words will not be capitalized (and there may be more things working different than in other text windows).
Expected result after these steps
First word of each sentence should be capitalized, thus PN should probably be classified as normal text window?

This is use case dependent I think. Some use this field to record observations on their visit etc. and write normal sentences, others would prefer their input not be corrected as they would use the field e.g. for mathematical formulas, variable values for mysteries etc.
As no more feedback occurred, it seems like if it’s the best to keep auto-correct disabled for the text view… If someone disagrees, please reopen and add label “feedback required” 😉
