Package `uidmap`
See original GitHub issueThe podman
package doesn’t work out of the box - it required the uidmap
package to be installed:
https://github.com/conda-forge/podman-feedstock/issues/11
It would be great if that could also be conda
installable - is that feasible?

It should be relatively straightforward to build, the source is at https://github.com/shadow-maint/shadow
Agreed - it would be a gross hack.
It sounds like the only other option would be a manual
sudo apt install ...
to get rootless podman to work with a conda install. That’s fine for me and is what I ended up doing in any case. If that is the case the issue in the repo can serve as documentation for anyone else who stumbles across the same problem.
