Error publishing repo created locally in Windows to GitHub
See original GitHub issueDescribe the bug
ERROR:registration_protocol_win.cc(102)] CreateFile: The system cannot find the file specified.
I got this error after a fresh install of Desktop in Windows 10 when I created a repository via the app, made a commit, and then tried ‘Publish repository’ in the app. After the error appeared, I checked on GitHub and my repo had been made, albeit empty with no commits. I then hit the ‘Publish branch’ button in the app and it worked fine.
Version & OS
I’m using Desktop version 2.6.6 in Windows 10 version 20H2.

@cheshire137 I was thinking that something may have gone wrong with your initial installation of GitHub Desktop, and it would be worth trying a fresh install to rule that out. We’ve seen installation issues like this in the past.
Great, thanks for the update!
