Repro steps:

  • Close VS
  • Open VS without opening a solution
  • Tools > ResX Manager

=> Empty window

There is an error in the output window: Error: Set property 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.DeferrableContent' threw an exception.

I’ve got the same issue here… if i uninstall Resx restart and then re-install it, it only work the first time i open ResX… if i close vs2019 and try to re-open the same ressource file i’ve got the same exception : Error: Set property 'System.Windows.ResourceDictionary.DeferrableContent' threw an exception.

what is also working (but i need to do it each time i open the resource file):

  • disable extension
  • restart vs
  • enable extension
  • restart vs
