[iOS] Video took several seconds to pause
See original GitHub issueSteps to Reproduce

When I clicked “slow pause”, the video stopped playing immediately but the text took 2-3 seconds to change from “slow pause” to “resume”! (Compare this with the “fast toggle” button below which does not control the video’s shouldPlay
prop)
This only happens on a physical iOS device, tested with iPhone 6 (on simulator it works fine).

I guess maybe some hardware acceleration of the emulator makes player apply changes faster (so the UI thread is blocked, but for an innoticable period of time) or maybe Android’s player is just faster when it comes to changing video player properties…
The fix for this was shipped with SDK 27: https://github.com/expo/expo/commit/a9644f71c9d4669c610e8a0b3467b063c1af4b43
