Would be great if we could import ics files or if there was some documentation on how

This has been implemented in v5.5.0 with the @fullcalendar/icalendar package, which internally uses the ical.js project.

This implementation is intentionally simple. If you need anything beyond this, it’s probably falls into the realm of CalDAV, which there’s another ticket for.
