Galio v1.0
See original GitHub issueIntroduction
Hi everybody! Galio is moving towards v1.0 with what I’d like to think of as the best design system in the game. The new version will include our own way of designing screens and components. Respecting the design guidelines for your apps would mean clean, good looking screens.
This is a refactor of all of our components for better stability, cleaner code and astonishing design.
For this Galio needs your help as much as I do 🤣. There’s multiple issues available below for you to pick and have fun with.
For this project we’re only going to use the dev
branch. All already modified components are there and any PR that you’re pushing is going to get there.
Tasks
- Accordion
- Checkbox
- Radio
- Slider
- Switch
- Avatar (TAKEN BY @AndyOsei )
- Badges
- Segment
- Feed Card
- Simple Card
Detailed information
As you can see, some of these components require a different level of skill. For example, doing the Slider component requires you to know about more advanced APIs like PanResponder or Animation. If you think that could be a bit hard for you to do right now, pick a component which only requires you to use the perfect amount of knowledge of the react-native environment.
How to get started
First you need to fork the project. That’s right, press the button in the corner and fork this project ❤️.
Now you need another project to test the component you chose. Initialise a new project. You can either do this via Expo or CRNA.
Now it’s your choice how you want to go about developing any of those components. Remember to push everything on the specific branch (ex: components/radio
) and that branch should be created from the dev
branch.
When you push for a PR, your target should be the dev
branch.
Design files
You can find all the design files that you need here. We only got Sketch files right now. Please don’t forget to follow the design thoroughly.
Thank you for your help! I’m really looking forward to seeing your components. Have fun! 🔥
