Check for new version on startup?
See original GitHub issueShould Javalin make an outgoing call to check for updates (ex. https://javalin.io/check-for-updates?current-version=$version`) when you start the server? There would of course be an option to disable this.
The output could just be “There is a new version available”, alternatively how many versions behind you are, a summary-line for each release, etc.

I wouldn’t want a library I used to make “unsolicited” network calls.
Seems like this is something most people wouldn’t appreciate, so I’ll just close it as
wontfix
. Thanks for your input everyone.
