Freeze PyCharm by indexing after open project

Issue was not reported yet
Stack trace (if provided) contains mobi.hsz.idea.gitignore package name

Description

Steps to Reproduce

Open PyCharrm project with big ignored text files
Wait 20-30 seconds
Freeze PyCharrm.

Expected behavior: Not Freeze

Actual behavior: Freeze PyCharrm. Stop can only keel

Reproduces how often: Always after upgrade PyCharrm to 2017.2.2 and open project with big text files.

Same here is PhpStorm: when opening one of my projects, IDE freezes completely as it is indexing. I have to force quit it (macOS). On other projects, it works fine. I don’t really know what would be the difference between them.

The issue seem to have appeared after updating .ignore plugin to 2.2.0 today.

Disabling the plugin allowed me to open the project again. Also re-enabling the plugin afterwards (ie. after indexing is complete) doesn’t seem to trigger the freeze again on restart/re-open.

Can you please check if it’s fixed with v2.2.1-RC2?

It is available in Early Access Preview repository channel or for manual installation
