Improvements to workshop format?
See original GitHub issueIāve run into a LOT of limitations that Iāve had to work around by using CRA for these workshops. I got really creative with codegen.macro, but now that Iām adding TypeScript support, I want to have different configs for the exercises and the final version of the exercises (so we can have strict mode enabled by default in the final, but not in the exercise).
So Iām making drastic changes to how react-workshop-app
works. My plan is that this change will barely be noticeable by people going through the material as itās just the tooling/backend stuff thatās changing here. Iām going to try and use Remix. BEFORE YOU WORRY: Iāve gotten permission from the remix authors to put remix in the ābundledDependenciesā, which means folks wonāt need to have a license to install this package even though itās using remix under the hood. Like I said, you shouldnāt even notice that remix is powering everything. But I promise you that I will! š
So, while Iām at it, I figured Iād reach out and see whether folks are interested in offering feedback on the format of the workshops and the app. Everythingās on the table, though a LOT of the way the workshops are set up are based on actual experience of many formats, so itās very possible that I wonāt accept your idea and I may not have time to explain why, but if you have some feedback on the format/setup of the workshop, Iād like to hear them here and now while Iām in the process of changing everything.
Iām curious about stuff like, the visual design of the app itself, where the exercise/final files are located on disk, etc. Stuff like that.
Thanks for any and all feedback!

Ah, a background in the iframe as you suggested might be okā¦ I do want to limit the difference between the exercise page (with the instructions on the left) and the isolated page though š¬
Well, there are: š± š² š³ š“ šµ š¶ š· šø š¹ šŗ š» š½ š¾
And
react-icons
does have playing card icons: https://react-icons.github.io/react-icons/search?q=card7heartsHmmmā¦
adding background to the iframeās parent div would not affect the isolated pages in any way (they already have transparent background - at least I hope that the default background color of the root element inside an iframe is
transparent
in all browsers)ā¦š ā¦ well, now that you mention it, the exercises with too many extra credits felt a bit overwhelming towards the end - but even if a decision would be made whether to split this particular one, the framework should probably support higher numbersā¦ e.g. unicode characters like ā», or 2 dice (probably 5+2, 5+3, ā¦ for easier sum in the head) ā¦ or there are these playing cards that start from 7:
