downgrading to 1.0.9 works for me (for now)
I’ve got django-prometheus 1.0.10 running fine with prometheus_multiproc_dir (Django 1.8.18… our app is quite old). Only issue was due to our application respawning PIDs too frequently leading to https://github.com/prometheus/client_python/issues/204 (unrelated to this issue, though it’s something to beware of if you’re running a large system)
