Articles with <> in title do not render properly in search engine results

HTML articles with <> in their titles have content inside the brackets omitted from result titles in various search engines.

It might be helpful to look at what HTML.com is doing because their tags seem to render correctly.

Their title is written <title><title> HTML Tag »</title>

The chevron appears to render in Google though.

FWIW DuckDuckGo is showing our title properly: image

So does Bing: image

However, Google still omits it (unless the colon is preceded by a whitespace, like in the French locale): image
