With tasks installed as extensions (e.g. GitVersion), they all are identified as “Azure VM scale set deployment” and inputs validated against that

Yes, in the core schema, we should suggest in box but allow any. Even once we have the ability to connect to your Azure DevOps server of choice, there may be times when you’re offline and want to use the baked-in schema.
