A11Y Quick Pick NVDA Speech viewer always announce "quick input list"

See original GitHub issue

Hiya and thank you so much in advance for looking into this 🙏☕️

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • VS Code Version: 1.72.2
  • OS Version: Windows 11 Enterprise

image

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Ctrl + P
  2. arrow down for recent file options…
  3. NVDA - announces - “Quick Input List” and then rest of the options.

Another way is if user do:

  1. ctrl + shift + P
  2. select option from quick pick Quick Open Previous Editor from History
  3. NVDA announces: (In speech viewer) “Quick Input List”

🧑‍🏭 I don’t see as show stopper but passing this information for A11Y point of view for right eyes and for thoughts or any way this could be catered for any QuickPick implementation

Thanks heaps, adding screenshot below for more clarity.

UX guidelines that @daviddossett is working on more-or-less say placeholders are highly highly encouraged… so I don’t think I need to cover the case when there is none.
