Windows uninstaller should have option to also remove user data dir and extensions dir

See original GitHub issue

I tried to uninstall / Reinstall Code Insider because of a recurring Error/Crash at “startup/reloaded” (Update / Reboot / proper exit), disabling extensions and remove all custom settings did not fixed it Before re-installing i wanted to be sure i has no crap left that code have hurted Code Insiders … surprise surprise …

  • VSCode Version: Latest of Code and Code Insider
  • OS Version: Windows 10

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Install it
  2. Add extensions
  3. Change settings
  4. Use it
  5. Update it
  6. Uninstall it
  7. Be curious on what’s left

do you think adding a check box to the “uninstall” panel to fully clear everything would helps users ?

also “uninstall” for extension would have a new button “uninstall from disk”

(ping back)

this seems like a good idea : https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/66837#issuecomment-517970912

As #76590 (part of #3884) has been on deck recently, I guess #3884 will be assigned as well. After that, this issue #66837 will be possible to fix. I hope these would happen ASAP because I have waited for near two years (actually #3884 has been opened for more than 3 years).
