[kodi] Connection could not be established

See original GitHub issue

Expected Behavior

  • I’ve added my Kodi instance to as a thing according to the documentation: Thing kodi:kodi:audiowohnen "Kodi" @ "Wohnen" [ipAddress="192.168.xx.xxx", port=9090, httpPort=8080, notificationVolume=100]
  • The UPNP and control settings within Kodi are as requried.
  • the log displays no error: 2018-05-31 12:18:47.969 [DEBUG] [odi.internal.protocol.KodiConnection] - checkConnection: try to connect to Kodi ws://192.168.xx.xxx:9090/jsonrpc

The Kodi server should appear as an unmanaged thing in PaperUI that could be used in items.

Current Behavior

The thing does appear but the state does not change to ONLINE:

Status: OFFLINE - COMMUNICATION_ERROR Connection could not be established

Instead autodiscovery finds the instance and creates a managed thing that is ONLINE which seems to be a bit weired.

Your Environment

  • Version used: 2.3.0
  • docker image based on openhab/openhab:2.3.0-amd64-alpine

OMG - what a shame!!! While pasting the config into my previous post I recognize my typo. Instead of 69.111 I configured the ip address as 96.111 See - after changing this the thing appears in state “Online”

Thank you you you help, anyway. And please again apologize this inquiry. I’m going forward using the binding.

Confirmed: PaperUI shows for both entries the same ip address and port configurations.
