quarkus-smallrye-jwt dependency brokes quarkus-amazon-lambda support
See original GitHub issueDescribe the bug
If the dependency quarkus-smallrye-jwt
is added to the project generated by
mvn archetype:generate \
-DarchetypeGroupId=io.quarkus \
-DarchetypeArtifactId=quarkus-amazon-lambda-archetype \
-DarchetypeVersion=2.4.1.Final
Then the generated unit test LambdaHandlerTest
will fail. I tried it because I integrated quarkus-smallrye-jwt
in a project having quarkus-amazon-lambda
and I was not able to successful run the lambda handler unit test, so I tried starting from scratch with the generated project and I’m having the same issue.
The stacktrace is the following:

@fastluca I think the solution you have found is simple and effective -
quarkus-smallrye-jwt
issmallrye-jwt
+Vert.x HTTP
supporting an HTTP channel for delivering the tokens and this channel is redundant in the Amazon Lambda envronment.Using
JWTParser
in such contexts makes sense and givenquarkus-smallrye-jwt
brings nothing extra toJWTParser
but registering it as a bean, usingsmallrye-jwt
directly with the above 2 lines of configuration makes perfect sense to me.I’ll document it, thanks
@sberyozkin not sure about that. In order to use Jandex I should be able to modify the pom of the library, and this is a dependency not directly managed by me. I included the beans declared with the following properties added in the
application.properties
file:IMO, this is a workaround. We should be able to use both
quarkus-amazon-lambda
andquarkus-smallrye-jwt
without issues, or at least it should be clear in the documentation.
