Problem still exist.

I am experiencing this problem as well, seemingly at the same point. Details below.

Expected Behavior

RipMe will rip the reddit URL and complete the rip without hanging.

Actual Behavior

On specific Reddit URLs, RipMe seems to hang after finishing the rip. When it hangs, I always see the “com.rarchives.ripme.ripper.AbstractRipper - Waiting for threads to finish” message in the log, and then nothing further. The GUI shows the rip as Pending (“Pending: 1”) and the Stop button is enabled.

I have tried changing the download folder and clearing the history to force RipMe to actually download the files again. It still hangs.

The GUI does not hang. Ripme just stops processing anything. Clicking the Stop button will successfully interrupt the rip.

I have left RipMe running for up to 3 hours to test if it will eventually recover. It doesn’t.

I’m not sure if its a clue to where the hang is happening, but I noticed something: when the rip hangs, I close RipMe and reopen it. The URL remains in the Queue section, so I can try it again. I thought this might provide a clue as to where the hang is happening.

I found an older build on my computer, created from commit b6ba978. When I run this build, this issue is not present.

However so far ‘ripme-2.1.1-3-536339dd’ works for me.

My experience is the same as @p6162: pre-release 827cc13 seems to partially resolve the issue - it ran for hours without a problem, but then showed the same hang behavior. Here is the last bit of the log where it just says “Waiting for threads to finish”.

Clicking the stop button, closing RipMe, reopening RipMe, and clicking the Rip button seems to work for the rip to continue.
