I'm quit (i.e. the last active collaborator left)
See original GitHub issueSorry guys, but at this point, i have to quit the react-use
collaboration.
At the point i’ve joined developing this package, it was a fast growing and enchacing project, but sadly, for now, for as long as a year or more, the project is maintained only by me, and i feeling this is not ok. Other collaborators and creator are abandoned development. The only thing streamich made for recent time is a kickstarter link at the very top of readme (that feels like an ad for me), and for now he is not responding to PM more that couple of month.
Package has some design flaws, that hard or even impossible to fix for me, as I have limted access to project’s infrastructure (ci\cd is not only at github and i can’t grant collaboration access to other people). Also there are some things I’m not agree with design-wise.
All factors makes me to make the hard decision, especially acknowledging that since my join to the project, it gained lots of your appreciation, recently passed 2M dowloads per month, and became kinda personal for me, my own project, if you wish.
For now i’m starting the project that will, as I see it, be more community driven and robust both browser and SSR environmetns.
There are not much hooks yet, but we (me and other people that already joined initiative) actively working on it. We dont think that just forking react-use
is fine, so you should treat it as completely new and separate project that grew out of react-use
.
All welcome to join and use: https://github.com/react-hookz/web Also we’re available via discord: https://discord.gg/Fjwphtu65f
The best wishes to react-use
, but since this moment we’re going different roads.

@streamich any comments? will you join the new lib development?
Hi! I’m a
@react-hookz/web
contributor (the library @xobotyi mentions above). If you were thinking of jumping ship, we now have a handy react-use to @react-hookz/web migration guide. Hope it helps!
