Hide some or all Firefox GUI

See original GitHub issue

I’m opening this issue because:

  • I’ll report a bug
  • I’ll propose a new feature

Description

Support an easily customizable GUI (e.g. vimperator can easily hide all GUI elements with :set gui=). Personally, I like to hide everything, which effectively disables tabs. That allows me to control each page using my window manager. The negative performance implications of not using tabs are likely diminished (or ideally negligible) with newer versions of Firefox.

This can be achieved with userchrome css.

Does this feature request include something like :set toolbars=none known from vimperator? Because, disabling tabs alltogether is not an option when using FF not in fullscreen on my tiling window-manager.
