Steps to reproduce

Where are you starting? What can you see? The Element window is open, black background, Logout link at the very bottom in the middle of the window - appears to be all sort of grayed out from this black background. In the center/middle of the window appears a mini-box titled “Submit debug logs” with further instructions on submitting a bug report.
What do you click? “create a GitHub issue”
More steps… To reproduce may possibly be to wait about 3 months without using Element Desktop App first.
Open the app and attempt an update whether manually through navigating to the Settingsand go to Help & About to ask for an update (“Check for update” button) or wait for the app to tell you there’s an update.
Attempt to apply the update but get told something went wrong - don’t use the app for another month or so.
Attempt to use the desktop app again, attempt update again, get told to submit logs.

Outcome

What did you expect?.

For the app to apply an update.

What happened instead?.

Error and debug reporting.
