Proposing 🐣 for major releases
See original GitHub issueHello @carloscuesta 😎!
- Emoji: 🐣
- Code:
:hatching_chick:
- Description: Releasing a new major version
This is only meant to replace 🔖 when bumping major versions.
While we’re on the subject, where is the emoji actually intended to be added when tagging or creating releases?
For tagging, I assumed in an annotated tag’s message. For example, git tag v1.2.3 -m ":bookmark: Release version 1.2.3"
. But without a release, this doesn’t show up as an emoji on GitHub.

Agreed. Keep up the great work!
I tend to use the 🔖 emoji on the commit I bump the version number and then I tag that commit as the “last” commit of the release
