Thousands of changed files should not affect app responsiveness
See original GitHub issueI have a project with 30k files to commit (from upstream branch). This freezes the entire Desktop app with no button responsive. I can’t even switch project since the project switcher is frozen too.
It doesn’t take too long to perform operations with the git command line, so I’m not sure what exactly is freezing GH Desktop.

Fixed in #4443.
The fix in https://github.com/desktop/desktop/pull/4443 is now available in the beta channel if you would like to start using it before it arrives on the stable channel.
It’ll be nice to see just how high we can push the number of changed files while keeping the application snappy - I can see 100k is mentioned in this issue so we might set that as our goal for this work.
