Snapping a small application to any zone causing UI to become unresponsive and show a strange black box

See original GitHub issue

Environment

Windows build number: version 1909 build 18363.720
PowerToys version: v0.16.0
PowerToy module for which you are reporting the bug (if applicable): Fancy Zones

Steps to reproduce

Snap a smaller application ( like the Avaya ONE X phone agent) to any zone

Expected behavior

The window should snap normally and respond normally when you interact with it.

Actual behavior

The windows snaps as expected but the display of said window freezes in whatever state it was in when you snapped it and a strange black box appears behind it. you can still click things and make selections but you cant tell you did anything by looking at it (in my screenshot i should be on break)

I think the simplest option will be to simply close the issue and I will just leave that particular application excluded

If an application doesn’t react to the Windows Snap, it’s a good indication that it might not work properly with FancyZones. To snap an application, FancyZones does nothing out of the ordinary, it simply calls a system API to position and size the window. If that causes problems to the target app, there is nothing we can do about it.
