See original GitHub issueSteps to reproduce
I create an install.html like this :
<html><body>
<a href="ewpotd-1.2-an+fx-windows.xpi">ewpotd</a>
</body></html>
Then i open the html file from Firefox, and click on the link.
Expected behavior
It must ask me for installing the .xpi.
Actual behavior
It just ask me for downloading.
Device information
- Android device: Asus tablet P028
- Fenix version: 80.1
It’s an internal extension developed by my organisation, and I need to install it on Firefox for Android.

In #14034 it was said “In the near-term we want to support a pref on Nightly”. That’s all we know.
Ok, but it’s a regression because before the last Firefox update we can use our extension 😦 and it’s verify useful.
Is there a delay/version expected for expanding add-on support ?
