Allow link previews to be removed from a message
See original GitHub issueFairly often, link previews are not helpful, and simply clutter the message view. Anyone with permissions to edit the content of a message should therefore be able to remove link previews from the message, for all users viewing it. The sender could thus decide whether or not to include the link preview in a message they send.
This can be implemented with an x shown to the left of the link preview, along the lines of:
The x should be shown:
- To users with appropriate permissions in the message view.
- In the message preview; this part is blocked on #19465.
This issue should address the remaining user feedback in #11773.
